How many tickers are we allowed to have?

How many tickers are we allowed to have?

One of the mods have pm me to tell me to reduce my tickers on my signature and guess what? He went into my business and took all my tickers off. I told him that he had no right to do this. We should have any numbers of tickers we want.

We have the freedom to do whatever we want! I dont understand this. I have put this on my signature last month and none of the mods have complained about it til now! Why wait til now to tell me this? I dont understand this.

We should do whatever we want, to have any numbers of tickers to put on our signatures. Dont you agree?
 
no you should respect people who has dial up connection. The more tickers or the more picture you have on your signature, the slower the website becomes when loading, think about those who are on dail up and it will take forever for them to open the website. So the mods probably delete the whole thing because you refused to take them off. So really its your problem. If you listen in first place and follow the rules it wouldn't have happen.
 
I have dsl and no one have complained to me that they had plms. Plus I have read the rules and it doesnt say anything about tickers. So why is that?

ticker is a signature, and there is the rule about signature
 
here the rule it said about signature

3.) Members using images as signatures and/or avatars are to use JPG or GIF format only. Only 1 image is allowed per signature, and must be 50KB or less in file size.
 
This has been a going issue because of number of images in people's signature. I don't think most people realize that the size of the images in their signature can be hell for those who use dial up or who use mobile internet. And plus, WAY TOO MANY people use tickets, in my opinion. But then again, you can always turn signatures off.

I just took 1 off so to satisfy ppl. Still, it aint right though so I am just stepping back and just be cool.
 
:fruit: I just learned something new today, I didn't realize that having many tickers would slow up other people's computer. At least for the future, I will know this. Thank you for the information. :gpost:

That's why I made my signature on Breast Cancer month smaller...so it won't slow up traffic here. :) One ticker is enough for me....when Christmas is over, I will use another ticker for something else. :)
 
<-- on dialup internet access.. and it took me forever to loading the www.alldeaf.com..
I found out that I can go to User CP.. click off on the signatures..
its little *bit* better...

Yes, its true that tickers take up the computer's running windows..

i use to think the way u did. yes i wish i could have 30 signatures if i wanted. but too many sigs does make peoples computers and handhelds run slow. so thats why i only have at the very most, 2 sigs.

I wondered if the mods warned you to delete first before they went into your acct and deleted themself?

I have just deleted 2 of my sigs.. I had 3 in it.. so i went ahead and deleted 2 of them.. I didn't realize that could have slowed others who have dial-ups.. Sorry, guys!

No no. he never warned me to do that. He just pm me and asked me to reduce the number of tickers then he went into my business and deleted everything I worked on. And I had to redo everything and put just ONE ticker on my signature. I do not think it is fair at all. I have seen alots of ppl here having TWO tickers here and I have not seen any changes. So why is that?

So far I have seen just one ticker and a sig.. so that makes 2.. but really.. I would just respect ADers just to have a few so it wouldn't slow their computer up.. As for the mod, i'm not sure what's going on.. or what happened.. that need to be solved before it goes any further...

yeah and I have dsl, aint complaining so it is not just ppl, it is their services. so why are we "punished" for it? It is not my fault that I have dsl, not them. I am not trying to sound like a bitch, I am just saying it is not the ppl, it is their services that is giving them plms downloading things. so we should be allowed to have 2 or 3 tickers so I am just going to step back and be cool. That is my thing.

We are not being punished by other people's service, we are just respecting them that all. Not everybody can afford cable interent or faster connection. So there are some people who still use dail up around here and maybe they cant afford faster one so they use dial up instead. So we are not being punished for their service, we are respecting them.

The mods did sent me a pm about having too big a signature, so i change it to a smaller one and they left me alone. So maybe you didnt change it quick enough and they felt that you were trying to rebel them so they just go in and delte your. Which is again your problem not their.
 
deafgeorgia... you have dsl.. but not everyone have dsl, some of them have 56k modem and it takes forever to load up alldeaf or other websites cuz many people use pictures or tickers or whatever it is on their profiles, and it made their computer slow. the moderator or adminstrator just want to let you know it is only limited to 1 signature that you can use. They're not mad at you, they're just letting you know.
