How Long Are You Willing To Wait In Line To Vote?

good luck!!

Thanks, Jiro! :) I just got back from voting. To answer the OPs question (as also mentioned by Liza), I'd wait forever if it meant putting Obama in the White House. :D

I ran into one of my friends who is helping at the polls. He told me this:

The wait is approximately 15-30 minutes with 2 polling machines and the most people we've so far in this town waiting..... is 40 people in line! :giggle:

This is slightly off-topic, but Byrdie's post reminded me of what happened back in 1988 when I voted for the very first time. At the polling place (which happened to be the first elementary school I ever attended), I saw my kindergarten teacher (she served as a poll volunteer) who immediately recognized me. (Don't ask me how, but she did.) She introduced herself, asked how I was and gave me her contact information. I thought that was so awesome, especially since it had been almost 15 years since I first set foot in that elementary school. So many good memories of kindergarten through 2nd grade came flooding back and it was as if I were a child again. :)

I think I ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes. Not bad at all. :)

Went to the poll early this morning before work...LONG LINE! I waited in line but time started running out and I needed to get dressed for work so I left. Waited like 15 mins before I gave up. After work, I went straight to the polls again...NO LINE!!! Took me like 5 minutes to vote! Seems like people who went early waited longer. Not bad! I was expecting to wait for at least an hour. Soon, I will leave agian to interview a new daycare and then huddle up to wait for the election results. I hope I will have fingers left after tonight! :laugh2:

This morning I drove some folk to the polls. They waited in line for over three hours. Hmmmm, don't tell me that we cannot handle the voting needs today!!!

It only took me 10 mins tops to wait in the line which was not too bad. :)

I live in 4th largest city of usa and I went in and out from voting poll without line up at 1:30 pm today.

first id have to spend 3 hours in immigration line, then only to find out i cant vote, so in hindsight, not bloody long mate:lol:

Yeah, time flies while ye munch on yer haggis, mate.

sweet! did they let you get in the line first?

Yes they did, but I didn't make that request. The polling volunteer who helped me insisted. However, from what she told me, the lines weren't that long to begin with.

ah... that's what I thought so. They tend to do that for people with disability. Boy, don't you love the perks it comes with? :laugh2: I had some special treatment too.
