I have another year of high school left and then university...i was wondering tho if my school has to get a hearing specialist to come in every once in awhile if i request it and have a note from my doctor? I had one at my old school but not at my new one. Also if i get hearing aids (which i find out prolly July 4th) (independance day for the U.S. yay!)(neways...lol) do they have to pay for an FM system if needed, just wondering cuz my old school purchased my friends thru the same company that made her hearing aids...
 
If you want the school district to pay for h/as they would have to put HAs under your IEP, otherwise, you will have to sign up for Vocational Rehabilitation in your state.
 
I dont think they would pay just for the Hearing Aids, i was just wondering about the FM system since it would be for school. Btw i live in Canada..
 
oh. ah, Canada. hmmm I don't know how Canadian public systems work, but you can try asking your special education teacher to request to add FM system to your Individual Education Planning paperwork then the district will be responsible for providing FM System for you.
 
Well in the States, FM systems are usually available on a lending library basis. The special ed dept holds an FM device, and lends it out to students to use.

I don't think so Canada is not good too much people is oral and listening, They are teach how learn worst cochlear implant and hearing aid. I have problem real bit about to fear deaf person. The deaf person is fear and not learn social with people is work hard not easy hearing. I hope you are not lucky or can hear hard about to be caerful don't lose your mind but I know if people is hard can't remember sound about to bit confused. They are not having rehabilitation is should practice is Saskatchewan, not enough work but need hire who professional learn psychology and counsellor. They quite work on counsellor help deaf people because real hard time.
