I found a large evelope 24x30 in the walls I am tearing out at the house. It is addressed to the house but not to the last owners, someone before them.
In the envelope is a sturdy paper speech that was given by Al Gore of Bill clinton when he was being Nominated for President, also enclosed is several signed letters of thanks from Al Gore himself for help with the presidental elections and all that electoral stuff... I want to sell it to a collector or someone interested in the Political stuff, This is all Pre-Clinton leading up to his election for President. Who would I contact? Im not interested in it but the cash it could fetch would help a great deal to help fix this home.

This stuff is in excellent shape, Perfect for framing.

I would contact a museum and get advice

Turn it in auction place. They will inventigate everything before they sell it.

If the auctions didnt charge 50%-75% profit I would.... Id rather find a collector ( sold a 51 Buick special restored like this ) Auctioneer wanted too much.

I really can't believe that it would be worth as much as you think. Try selling it on Ebay.

Well it was Pre-Clinton leading up to his election and Thank you letters after the election, so it has some value but what? Clinton was elected so it has some value somewhere.

You could sell it on eBay, but if it's Al Gore stuff, I'd sit on it carefully for another 30-40 years, or until:
1. Al Gore becomes president / UN leader etc.
2. Global Warming is irrefutably disproved
3. Global Warming become a big deal

or Al Gore dies?

30 or 40 years....are you serious? :laugh2: I still say sell on Ebay, I really don't think these things are of significant value. My mother has items from the Andrea Doria from when she and my Nonno went to Sicily and back. Those would probably have more value, and even then, I don't expect much...if anything. Hate to disappoint her but it's true.....

Unless his death becomes sensational like MJ... hmmmmm

With Al Gore it's hard to tell how much value his stuff has because he did not actually become president. Just VP...

I like the "contact a museum" idea.

Al Gore is one of the least likely people I can think of to have a sensational death!

Do you have any proofs that those are from Gore himself? You know I would always sign a letter with Gore's name and give them to you to sell. Anyone can do that. I'm sure those letters were signed by Gore, but if you've no certification of authority, then it'll be hard to get much for them.

I would hold on to this, it may be worth more money after Clinton is gone. He only been out of office 11 years , that is not long enough to made your letters
have a big market value. If you sell it now the person that buy it will be the one making money on it , not you. You should keep it in acid free envelopes and in a dry place place away from heat.

Yeah...a dry place, away from the heat....and hope that Monicka doesn't find it...or it might wind up in the dry cleaners.....j/k

Dont need proof, they are signed and Typed letters on letterheads from Gores office as well as his speech/campagne stuff, they are in envelopes from his office as well with watermarked paper...everythings legit.
I was thinking to frame it in an airtight glass frame as well since everything is single sided, soooo....
