I'm hearing, not deaf, but I'm learning ASL. Welcome!
 
Hi Corinne, nice to meet you too. I'm deaf, what they call Oral Deaf, I speaks very well, and I signs okay, some old signs, and fingerspelling, none of it ASL, though, I'm from Australia so we're different, bit like Britist, but not much. Yeah, there's AusLan signs, but they're like, HUGE... not necessary for me, I prefers books, eh. No worries!
 
Ah, cool :) I've seen some AusLan before, so yeah, I know it's very different from ASL.

So what are your interests/ what do you like to do?
 
:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. If you want to learn Auslan so that you won't feel left out. Signing is the only way to communicate with fellow Deafies, without using the voice. Oral-Only only make matters worse for the deaf and hard of hearing. So that is why it helps if you can communicate with them by signing Auslan.
