Hey everyone,

I just found your site - thought I'd stop by and say hola.

I'm Bryan, a 29 year old CA guy who grew up in Orange County. I moved to the Bay Area to go to UC Berkeley and have lived in San Francisco for about 5 years and love it. I'm a closet n3rd (shhh) software engineer but I'm pretty non-stop when it comes to travel, adventure, getting outdoors, and just enjoying life.

On the hearing front I lost mine due to acoustic neuroma removal surgery a couple years ago but they implanted an ABI which works awesome. I get along fine by lip reading w/ the ABI so I haven't learned ASL yet but I really want to.

Anyways, that's that. Hoping to meet some cool peeps and finally get involved with the deaf community. Any Bay Area or OC folks hit me up.
 
Welcome! I live in the Bay Area too... If you're not doing anything on Saturday, you should swing by the Era Art Bar and Lounge in Oakland. It will be a great place to meet deaf people. I'll be there! :)
 
There's a great group of deafies in the Bay Area. Don't hesitate to meet up with any of them! I wish I still lived in NorCal so I could hang out with them.

Awesome - good to know there's plenty of other bay area folks on here. I know they do SF meetups but I've never checked one out. Warped maybe i'll hit up that spot in oakland on saturday, sounds fun.

I go to SF fairly often.. A couple times a month at least. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow night. :)
 
Hi! My niece is in southern Ca. and she told her mom is in the 70's there! is that warn in SF too? I miss Ca, I use to live the Berkeley, how about sending us some sun in New England!
