My personal hero is my high school history teacher, Mrs Calvert. I first had here for Honors World History during my Freshman year, then AP European History, AP US History, and for my senior year, I was her student aid. Throughout high school, I was never known as an exceptional student. I was always procrastinating, never turning in my assignments, and missing school, especially in her classes. But she never gave up on me. She always encouraged me to try harder, and she believed in me. If it wasn't for her, I would have dropped out of high school. To this day, I still feel like I've failed her, because she was the only one who ever offered encouragement.
Is there anyone in your life who has such a profound impact on your life? Someone that helped you shape who you are now? I've often heard the phrase "heroes are for the weak," but this is simply untrue. It is part of the human condition to look up to someone and admire them for the role they've played in your life.
