I would prefer him to have some fun at times.
But how much did it cost tax payers to turn a battleship into a basketball court??

Obama always struck me as a golfer rather than a basketball player. Anyway, mind telling me who were the fans (not the Obamas) that attended the basketball game? Do you remember what day it was yesterday? It begins with a v and no, I'm not referring to V-for Vendetta.

NewsCore) - Paying tribute to American service members serving overseas on Veterans Day Friday, President Barack Obama said he "could not be prouder to be an American" while speaking on board the US Navy Warship that carried Usama bin Laden's body to its burial at sea earlier this year.
"When they come home from part of the long line of those who defended our freedom, we have a sacred trust to make sure they understand how much we appreciate what they do," Obama said, according to The Washington Post.
"Every American citizen can make a solemn pledge today that we will find some way to support our troops. We are committed to making sure that we served you as well as you served us."
The president was speaking before the start of the inaugural "Carrier Classic" college basketball game featuring a match-up between the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and Michigan State University Spartans.
The game, played before military members and invited guests -- including Obama -- kicks off the National College Athletic Association 2011 season. A hardwood court was built on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier to host the game.
According to a statement released by USS Carl Vinson Public Affairs, the game has no operational impact on the 1,092-foot (333m) carrier and comes at no cost to American taxpayers.
"I think it's a great way to say 'thank you' to all men and women in the service," said Capt. Bruce H. Lindsey, commanding officer of Carl Vinson, in the statement.
Wearing a brown bomber jacket and standing alongside First Lady Michelle Obama, the president said his administration recently passed legislation to make it easier for returning veterans to find employment.
He also received large cheers from the crowd when he mentioned the USS Carl Vinson's role in the mission that killed former al Qaeda leader bin Laden.
Earlier Friday, Obama attended a wreath-laying ceremony and delivered a speech honoring the US military and veterans at Arlington National Cemetery.
After the game, Obama flies to Honolulu for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit -- the first stop on a nine-day trip through Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia.
Then there was his latest confusing “explanation” of the sexual harassment scandal.
Cain told Cavuto that he and his campaign were prepared for the sexual harassment scandal. “We did opposition research on myself… I told them about this Restaurant Association incident,” Cain said.
Considering the contradictory and confusing stories he’s given out, that was one heck of a bad oppo research job they did. But, of course, Cavuto didn’t have the bad manners to point that out.
Then came the even more bizarre conspiracy theory about who leaked the story to Politico in the first place.
“Here’s what we believe but we don’t have any facts so I’m not gonna accuse anybody. People who do not want me to get the nomination or become president – I don’t know who these people are, it’s probably a network of them – are behind this because they knew… that some people were going to believe the accusation whether it was true or not. ‘Let’s take a little bit of shine off of Herman’s star and see whether or not it will help to reduce the enthusiasm that people have.’ They knew that, so they achieved that objective. But here’s where it backfired. More people believe me than the accusations and they have demonstrated it not only with their verbal support, people wanting to volunteer, they have demonstrated it with their dollars.”
Now, Cain told Cavuto, the Hill joke “was hilarious because I would never in my wildest dreams expect her to endorse me… I got a laugh out of it.”

This is getting so bizarre that it would be reasonable at this point to question his stability.
Really! While Congress was working their butts off yesterday and last night working doing the budget, he was on an aircraft carrier watching and playing basketball.
I guess to him basketball is supreme. When the deadline comes around, of course, he will blame Congress and not his basketball folly.

To answer your question.
These fans are not fans, they are the men and women of the arm force, not one paid to watch. You are thinking of people who pay for a ticket. The men and women of the arm force defend us all but don't make laws and don't pass budgets. Yes, they deserved to be honored yesterday but where was Obama yesterday morning? That is right, he was in Washington honoring the vets. Then he forces us all to pay for pay for his trip to a basketball game. In the meantime the national debt had gone up another trillion, and still rising, but only Congress is working on it.
Asked by Fox News if he had ever had to pay anyone to resolve harassment claims, Cain responded, "outside of the Restaurant Association, absolutely not."
Hm... me thinks something fishy is going on... and I'm not talking about anchovies.

Some would prefer he never work. It would save tax money.
Sadly, another topic is swirling around the bowl, heading for Obama bashing.
I think I see kokoshark's fin circling around looking for an opening.
My father fought (20 years) for his right to circle.
Obama is still your Father's President. I would hope that any criticism that he has about Obama is reasonable instead of always looking for blood every chance he gets.

Nope. His last voted President was George H.W. Bush, and I cannot say if he voted for him or not. They don't allow absentee ballots from the grave.![]()
Whenever I see Cain make speeches or comments in public, I feel like I cant trust him. That started way before the whole sexual harrassment issue came to surface.

That's of interest. What about him made you feel you couldn't trust him?
He came across as a "show-stopper"...the way he presented himself. Maybe to some people, that's a indication of a good leader but for my view, it is an indication of someone who is brown-nosing the public..someone not real.
I dont know..just never had good vibes about it. I guess I have always liked more humble people.
