So sad that this has had to happen again:

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Police were investigating whether a body found Friday is that of a 10-year-old girl who authorities said vanished with a registered sex offender.

Cedar Rapids police canceled an Amber Alert for Jetseta Marrie Gage after the body was found in rural Johnson County, but said a positive identification of the body had not been made. They did not say if it was the body of a child.

Roger Bentley, 37, a family acquaintance, was taken into custody in Johnson County for questioning early Friday, but has not been charged. He is accused of taking Jetseta from her mother’s house in nearby Cedar Rapids on Thursday night.

Telephone messages left Friday for officials with the Johnson County sheriff’s department were not immediately returned.

According to state’s Sex Offender Registry, Bentley was convicted in 1994 of lascivious acts with a child.

Police said he was working on the van of Jetseta’s mother, Trena Gage, Thursday night before disappearing with the child.

Gage, who was away at the time taking a college course, said her 7-year-old son saw Bentley leave in his pickup with Jetseta. The children’s grandmother also was at home.

“I’m distraught. I’m just praying,” she told The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette. “I just want her home.”

First poor Jessica in Florida, and now this. So sad. I also read somewhere that Jetseta was mentally challenged. The scumbag who killed her should be be tied up and tossed into a pond filled with piranas. That should serve him right! :mad2:

Reba, I agree. I believe alcoholics can be reformed...I believe drug abusers can be reformed...many criminals can be reformed. The people I do not think can be reformed is pedophiles, child pornographers, and molestors. It seems that every time one of these innocent children come up missing, it is the sex offender that lived 2 doors down that everyone thought was 'that quiet neighbor'. These stories are the ones that really turn my stomach.

I agree with you. Pedophilia is classified as a sexual preferance. That means they sexually prefer to be with childern. That is what turns them on. It is part of who they are. It is the same way Homosexuality is the preferance for homosexuals. It is part of who they are. However Homosexuality has nothing to do with Pedopiles. So NO BASHING!!! If a Pedophile male molests a young boy. It is not because he is gay. It is because he is attracted to male childern. Homosexuals like ADULTS not CHILDERN. Pedopiles like childern. They should be locked up forever. To keep them from hurting another child.

Personaly I think anyone that touches a child. Their genitals should be ripped off. Then they should be shot in the head. That is my opinion.
 
Ill Make a prediction,,,When they find out who did it,,Watch the sheriff get on FOX NEWS and say I WANT THE DEATH PENALTY!! Hes doing it for political gain. Sheriffs dont care about the victim all they care about is money and power.
