Can somebody help me translate this? :)

Are you an interpreter? Or are you a signer who has been asked to interpret?

Will the rest of the service also be interpreted?

I'm surprised you were given such a task that seems to be above your capabilities.

How much of the piece have you done so far? Is there a particular concept that you're stuck on?

Just the grammar. Usually, I sign using S.E.E. but that's not what they want. :(
 
When I was learning basic ASL, I signed quotes from the book fight club while others were signing from childrens books. Quotes like "Put a gun in my mouth and paint the walls with my brains" or "everything you ever love will reject you or die. Everything you ever create will be thrown away. Everything you're proud of will end up as trash. ”

I even signed my favourite haiku..

"Without just one nest
A bird can call the world home
Life is your career"

If you aren't very experienced in ASL, that much to sign looks overwhelming, but good luck anyway.

I don't think it will be too hard. I mean, I know the signs, I just need to know the order! :P

"Just" the grammar? The grammar is major.

Do you know ASL or do you know only SEE?

If you don't know ASL it's kind of hard to give you a crash course on-line. When do you need this done?

I didn't mean "just" the grammar like that but yeah. :P I know some ASL, just not enough to have this whole thing done. And it's on December 8th.

Will there be Deaf/Hard of Hearing people in the church to read your signs of that guote?

If you do, then who knows that the Deaf/Hard of Hearing wll probably not like to see you sign if you are not signing properly. You have to be an expert in signing. I don't know why you need help if you know the signs. If you don't know the word or words, then you can fingerspell the word or better yet just mime with your body language. Maybe that might help.

Still you need to be a professional signer or Certified interpreter to do the job. :hmm:

As a guest speaker, he or she need to lecture or speak more than just a quote.
