Help on Shenmue II (Xbox)

As I've already beaten the first Shenmue on Dreamcast, I'm playing the sequel of the next Shenmue game and I'm having some difficult right now.

As I've found some tapes in the trash can, and returned to Ren's hideout and used the tape recorder and find some clues, blah blah blah so to make it short I have to go to some bird shop on the top of the roof (the three birds bldg) and I'm on the last floor of the building but can't find a door to go up to the roofs...and I'm losing my patience on this...PLEASE help! :(

never mind people...I was embrassassed enough that I missed the letter "R" on the right evlator, which "R" stands for "roof" so I finally got onto the roof and followed some ugly bitch to her apartment and got the kidnapped man free so now I'm on the next mission bleh

To be honest, I really like the orginal Shenmue the best because it was just easier and very understandable of what you are supposed to do, etc...but shenmue 2 is just too long and boring...but wanted to play it to get the full story anyway
 
all right, guys...this time I REALLY need help!

I'm in a very tough battle with Baihu, the master of tiger shallow, and I have to fight him to let Joy go, and at the end of the first round, an icon shows up, telling me to press left and then press X...*sigh* no matter how fast I've pressed the buttons I still get knocked down and defeated...FUCK!

so seriously guys, there has GOT to a way to get through this guy so I can just finish the game without having to be stuck there forever! grrr I really wanna fuckin' kill that fuckin' guy! he makes me sick

so PLEASE, anyone...anyone out there tell me HOW the FUCK can I get through him? even though I've followed directions from the game, but no matter how fast I've tried to press it, even before the icon shows up, I still get defeated...what the fuck??

so...PLEASE anyone, who've played and beat shenmue II, I BEG for your help!
