Hi, my name is Stacy. I was born deaf in both ears, and had hearing aids, along with extensive auditory and speech therapy. Then when I was around 12-13, the hearing aids did not work as well, and at that time I was attending a local Middle School. I felt really out of place, being unable to hear my surroundings, friends, music and etc. So I decided to get a Cochlear Implant in my left ear, and I can say that has been the best decision of my life. Now I am 18, out of high school, and looking to get into a College. What brought this site to my attention was my search for Financial Aid for college. So, I hope to meet more people who may have had a similar situation as I, and would love to chat. :wave:
 
Welcome I am new to this site also.

When I was in search of financial help to purchase hearing aids, I came across a lot of Financial Aid for college for HOH and deaf students.
