According to my personal source, Health director said that his staff will be required to get the vaccine and wear masks. Those who refuse or can't will be unemployed for 2-3 months.
Major teaching hospitals are now doing it with the Seasonal Flu vaccine.
That's perfectly fair. If a healthcare worker gets it, they can act as a hub for exposing all of their (possibly much more medically fragile) patients to the flu. Don't like it? Nobody is forcing you to work, go home.
As a Kaiser employee, I am required to take annual flu shots. There are few exemptions that shots wont be given such as religious beliefs and allergic reaction to active compound.
If there is no valid reason given and/or not approved by the committee, a case is being referred to HR for employment termination.
