Exactly, Txgolfer. It's taking advantage and the timing when it comes to stocks and knowing where to look for certain clues. It's not for everybody but it can be done if you're a savvy enough of an investor, or in this case a speculator.

Exactly.....there is a chance the bottom could fall out in the next few days.....it's a risk right now. I am thinking the day the SC announces they will hear the matter is going to be the best day to get out....not sure though, have to play it by ear.

Too bad some people don't understand the idea of hedging. I think most farmers who grow commodity crops do this......either at the big exchanges or local ones.

Yep they do....it is a necessity for many of them.

If anyone buys the stocks and bash the health care bill...does that make them hypocrates?

not at all. completely different issue. a hypocrite would be somebody like a politician supporting anti-gay law but is a closet person.

Yep. And opportunists as well. Just like the isurance companies that see a chance to increase their profits based on another's misfortune.

opportunistic yes. a smart one. but they are not profiting on one's misfortune.

beside - whose misfortune? and how?

Not really.

Not in my eyes. It just means they're educated on how the greater mass thinks.

Once you understand the weave..... You're a weaving....

yup. classic pysch 101.

Drug and hospital companies led stocks higher Monday after House lawmakers ended months of uncertainty and approved the health care overhaul bill.

So...protest against something that could potentially help millions of uninsured but yet, rake in the profits?

they profited from stocks.... not the uninsured people's misfortune.

Exactly....and it is possible to lose on a stock too.

Take the risk.....reap the reward/consequence

I have no clue about stocks.

Good Luck though, TXGolfer..

and hey.... if the uninsured people were smart, they most likely struck gold!

I have already made enough in two days to pay for my premiums for a year when I sign up. Not kidding

:cool2:

Sold today.....maybe premature but I didn't care to keep track of it that closely. It was a good week

Opportunistic implies, in it's use, profiting on one's misfortune. The problem here is the lack of ethics that allows one to speak against that which is providing the opportunity while using it for personal gain at the same time. No adherence to priciples.
