Have you been struck with reality on here??

:gpost: to all. I agree with everything that has been said. We can all share different opinions and experience and learn from what others have been through. My opinions are based on my life experience and what is right for me. The decisions I have made were right for my deaf son. That doesn't mean that those decisions will be right for all deaf children. There wasn't a forum like this available to me when my son was young, and I wish there had been. I had to research and seek out answers on my own, because the experts were all giving me only the information that fit with their philosophies (mostly strict oralism).

I would never presume to tell any parent that they must raise their deaf child as I have chosen to raise my son. By the same token, I don't want to be criticized because my decisions have perhaps been different from the ones someone else made.

I am here to share my experience and hope that someone may be able to benefit from it in some small way. No matter what decisions we make, I am a firm believer that they need to be INFORMED decisions. The only way to do that is to share experiences with each other. :)
