Hands On VRS Grants Deaf Childrens' Wishes to Call Signing Santa - Press Release

Deaf children are often left out of the tradition of telling Santa their Christmas wishes, but for the second year in a row, Hands On Video Relay Service is making it possible for deaf children to call Santa and speak to him using American Sign Language. Santa will take a break from wrapping presents to talk to deaf children December 20 - 23.

"Our Signing Santa program is part of our overall mission to break down barriers and allow all individuals the same ability to communicate," said Ronald E. Obray, chief executive officer, Hands On VRS. "So many deaf children have never had the opportunity to communicate with Santa directly, and we are thrilled to be able to allow deaf and hearing children the same opportunity to share their requests with Santa."

Children can call Santa through santa.hovrs.tv between 12 and 9 p.m. PST on any of the following dates:

Thursday, December 20 Friday, December 21 Saturday, December 22 Sunday, December 23

Parents and children who have questions or need assistance can contact the Hands On VRS Customer Care team via Video Phone at help.hovrs.tv, e-mail at help@hovrs.com or AIM at CCHOVRS.

Wow! This announcement just made my day! This is such a great thing for signing deaf children. I remember interpreting for my son when he went to see Santa......this is so much better! Thank you so much for this post, Miss-Delectable!
