"Hammer/Harem Pants are Back!"

Oh and Capri's are from the 60's. Seems like they are all blending in from history.

I was born in 1970, so I'm very familiar with the ugly style of clothing from that decade. What are "stove pants" and what do they look like?

They have very tight fitting straight legs. The legs look like a "stove pipe".

ah.... one of my close friends was notorious for wearing this hammer pants back in elementary school. what a goofy-ass looking pants but he loved it. Whenever I think hammer pants, I think Vanilla Ice..... I dunno why

It is common routine of the fashion industry to go in a cycle and bring out retro things..

Old school "oldskool" come back again and remake their appearances with the new generation and the old that wants to relive it again.

A lot of older people want to revisit them too.
Everclear's lyrics of the music song AM Radio makes a perfect example of the older generation wanting to relive the past:

The VCR and the DVD
There wasn't none of that crap
Back in 1970

We didn't know about
A world wide web

It was a whole different game being played
Back when I was a kid

Wanna get down
In a cool way?

Picture yourself on a beautiful day

Big bell bottoms
And groovy long hair
Justa walking in style
With a portable CD player

I expect the striped clothing, funky collared shirt styles of the early 90's to remake a cameo appearance sometime again in the future.

Naisho is right about the fashion styles repeating itself. It even goes back to the Romans times, I did study fashion design a long time ago.

History has a way or repeating itself!

Change the name or logo. It is all the same!

:ty: for the explanation Jillio. That sounds alot like the Jordache jeans we used to have back in the early 80s. Teenage girls used to wear them so tight they would hug their hips and legs.

I was a jorache gal!

Along with all the flowery prints, and the over sized shirts. Leg warmers where hot back then..

Thanks to Olivia Newton John!

ha ha i used to show off that i had 7 different colors of legging warmers to match with my clothes. lol. my favorite was the black with gold, my god!

Oh yes I even had folded my bottom of jean pants and thick white socks covered it. LOL!

Frisky,

:laugh2:

I always had neon colored leg warmers. I couldn't see what they looked like, but I loved how bright they were.

I can still remember one of my classmates who rode the school bus with me say "I could see you all the way down the street." :laugh2:

That's exactly what I loved about neon. As I said in an earlier post, I always wore neon, so my friends used to call me "neon" for short. :giggle:

Hear Again, who hopes neon clothing makes a comeback

oh yes i am so sure that neon thingy will come back any soon. last time i wore them that was in late 1980s. the retro fashions tend to come back within every 20 years.

As the saying goes "Everything that is old is new again."

I'll be in my 40s when neon makes a return. :laugh2:

yes that's so true. I hope they make prettier neons than in 1980's. :giggle:

:laugh2:

I always thought yellow-green neon sounded cool! I have no idea what it looks like, but I was told that it was *really* bright -- much brighter than hot pink.

haha yes yellow neon or yellow - green are even brighter than green neon. I like pink neon that color is more bold like deep bright color. :giggle:
