My name is grace :)
I'm a hearing student who is passionately learning ASL, because I live in an area with a large deaf community (due to TSD being in the area). I'm looking to make new friends and maybe find help with things I am unsure of while I am learning the language and the culture that goes with it...

That's a fantastic name! So, if you don't mind my asking, it says you were born deaf, are your parents deaf?
 
Don't mind! Born deaf, yes. Parents hearies...all family hearies. Only Deafie is me!
 
Haha, sorry I was just curious. I had a subpar ASL teacher last year and didn't learn much from her. I think it was just new teacher jitters, but still incredibly disappointing. So, I don't really know what are and are not common questions...

Also "how you become deaf", "why you don't get CI" and "so you hear like nothing at all??".

What about....
What kind of school did you go to? (Residential, "main stream", etc...?)
 
Hmm...I don't know something never asked...only once someone ask do I sign songs in shower LOL.
