Well, I called the lender to find out about my tax papers since I was supposedly required to pay back taxes ( since its not included in the escrow from what I was told ) well, I was refered to the legal department there and come to find out, they were required to pay all back taxes up till I closed on the house.... Yah me !!!!
So I emailed copies of the tax receipts and check to the legal department and I will be reimbursed the $528 I paid to the County Collectors Office...woot !!!! Well that will help me get the ball rolling on fixing the house, let alone we are doing taxes this weekend so I should have more to throw into the house at once,, Not gonna tell the other party since she will more than likely say Oh well you got 500 back so I can keep the extra... I just know how she is, so we are both paying taxes and filing so I deserve my share reguardless, so Im going to avoid the hassle with her and just keep it to myself, heck it was my money out of my pocket for taxes anyways.

I have wondered about that before looking at those auctions. Sometimes there are a lot of back taxes. There are a lot of housing auctions going on.

It depends on the seller really. I was just lucky that they were footing the bill on the back taxes... although the lender I was dealing with said taxes were my responsibility til next year since there was nothing in the escrow, apparently he didn't know all the bells and whistles, but I am a happy camper to get this back, it was a setback to pay that... besides, every month it went unpaid a pentalty was added to the amount, so it wasn't paid since November and I thought it was on me so I went and paid it. Glad I called today, good news to me.

This is my 3rd house Ive bought but the first that I bought as a vandalized bank foreclosure, so it is a little scary testing new waters alone, I didn't use an agent to save money.
