Sorry, but this does not even come close to the Loch Ness Monster hoax.

:laugh2:

What about Wells' radio braodcast that had 90% of America believing we were being invaded by Martians on a Halloween night? War of the Worlds.

LOL, TXGolfer.

Somebody passed along to me about wildfires and how they caused global warming. LOL! Noooo. There is no proof of that. Remember folks, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere makes up only .039 percent of the total atmospheric gases (390 ppm or parts per million currently). That leaves 99.96 percent of the atmospheric gases as non-CO2 gases.

Also, it's lightning caused wildfires that produce more acreage burned than human caused fires simply because lightning strikes occur in more remote and hard to reach places to access wildfires in order to "snuff them out" (or let it burn). Human caused wildfires are found in areas such as campgrounds, near populated areas, along travel corridors and such. This enable forest fire fighters an easier time accessing those hit areas, generally speaking.

Some say that 20% of all CO2 emitted are caused by wildfires. Take the lighting strikes equation out since it's a natural occurrence, you are probably looking at 10 to 12% as caused by humans. So, an addtional 10% to the total ppm on CO2 will only raise CO2 up by 4 ppm (approximately). That's .004 percent extra CO2 emitted by man-caused wildfires. In the land of 1,000,000 pennies you will see an extra 40 pennies more in terms of ratio increase only.

Again, no biggie. The real problem with wildfires is the aerosol and soot in the low lying atmosphere that can reduce that amount of sunshine filtering onto the Earth surface at the regional (and sometimes national, e.g. Yellowstone and Biscuit wildfires) scale.

National Interagency Fire Center

ADDENDUM: This is for the U.S. only. Obviously in other countries it's human caused wildfires that produces the most acreage (e.g. forest clearing in South America). Even if you factor 20% that's only an extra 80 pennies more added to 1,000,000 pennies. A ratio increase of CO2 concentration isn't much to scream about.

If that's the case, TXgolfer, must be a new way of backpeddling?

Regardless, I await your answer. :(

I smell something burning.
