GOP's nightmare - stimulus is working!

The banking lobby and Wall Street currently own *both* parties, I'm afraid. I support campaign reform. Congress doesn't want to cut off its big lobby funding scam, though.

Jilio, I agree that change is a process, but I'm was disappointed that Obama appointed the same crooked financial guys that caused this crisis in the first place. The message that sends is undeniable. The same guys are in charge and facing no consequences of their wide-scale fraud.

The mortgage companies approved loans to risky borrowers ("liar loans"). They knew that they would not face the loss because they intended to bundle the loans and sell them. This is where Wall Street came in, only too glad to create securities from these loans and sell them. A big ol' Ponzi scheme. Madoff and Sanford were small time scammers. This scheme was the big deal.

Now, the little people will pay. That's me and you.

Sallylou, we're already bleeding to death. This is reminscent of toxic financing death spiral in the stock market. I've always been against fiscal irresponsibility by the Federal Govt, doesn't matter who sits at the president desk. But this year is the worst...evah! And clearly shows no concern but to try gain greater and greater control over people. The hypocrisy is just astounding that people ignores this administration's toxic financing and huge, huge! trillions dollars debt load and deficit problem when they were screaming bloody murder when Bush was in office about over spending and the deficit only this time with this administration it's 5 times worse in a span of 6 months!! And all I hear are crickets chirping over this one. Hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty are just horrible by those who ignored this administration's spending spree versus Bush's.

*shakes head* - you know who you are people. Congress and the president will be the bane for the American public soon enough.

The economy is showing signs of improvements thanks to STIMULUS!

"Government efforts to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars into the U.S. economy appear to be helping the U.S. climb out of the worst recession in decades."

"Many forecasters say stimulus spending is adding two to three percentage points to economic growth in the second and third quarters, when measured at an annual rate."

"For the third quarter, economists at Goldman Sachs & Co. predict the U.S. economy will grow by 3.3%. "Without that extra stimulus, we would be somewhere around zero," said Jan Hatzius, chief U.S. economist for Goldman."

U.S. Economy Gets Lift From Stimulus - WSJ.com

GOP wants the economy to be bad for the next election but from the rate it's going on, it looks like Obama will have an excellent chance for a second term presidency. :)

Big FAIL.

Was than an echo or just a familiar refrain?

I don't think GOP handling on economy will make any better.

Just no difference but typical same political war.

At least under the GOP we wouldn't be borrowing from your future grandkids.

Why does we have budget deficit under G.W. Bush Admin and majority republicans in congress since we had budget surplus under Clinton Admin?
