Google to introduce PC operating system

That's great news, MS will no longer to be solely in PC market in next few years if Chrome OS is successful and become more compete against Windows.

I hope that Google would write the generic drivers for most hardware (including WiFi), except for video card, I know that GeForce, ATI and Intel will write on own driver.

It would be interesting if Chrome OS turn into popular for PC gaming in near future, along with Mac.

Wow, they're a linux based OS for Google.. I will be looking for it in the future, they could have a Netbook can be easy surfing around and etc..

Hmmm, that sounds interesting! I'm pretty sure it will run on Mac via boot camp. :)

Soiently Poifect!

Now I can convert my AMD64 HP laptop to Google Chrome OS :)

I think they have done a right thing by starting their OS on netbooks first before expanding into the PC market.

The best thing is it is FREE!

U betcha it's soo exciting that we can watch M$ come down really hard :rofl2:

I read that M$ is going to counter it by providing better customer service which Google don't have. I hope it's just the M$'s scare tactic.

I'm looking foward for new Google's OS to spread forth around the world, Hope it'll be 95% Linux, 5% Doz ( :giggle: joking).

I would love to see that I can power up my system and there!!! it's up and running and ready in less than 15 seconds. It actually happens to Ubuntu Jaunty Jackrabbit 9.04 on my AMD64 system when I set it to "sleep" if it been untouched for 40 min (it's in ScreenSaver-Power Manager). I just hit power button and bingo! It arrives to desktop all ready to go in 15 min seriously!! Basically, Google is using Ubuntu's 9.04 for Google Chrome OS.. Previously, Google's gOS did use Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 last year. So It's obvious.

Get it?

I've used gOS last year but I prefer 9.04 but I haven't checked to see if there's anything new yet. The reason I reformatted gOS cuz of bug issue with my graphic adapter which is as usual ATI Radeon Express 200 graphic chipset. That was when before I finally bought Nvidia GeForce 9400GT. Maybe I can try that on my old laptop with newer verson of gOS. If it's no longer there then I'll know why they are holding till this fall to release for everyone to try out new Google's OS.

Google is going digital. A new step to evolution.
Google’s Chrome OS: Reaching for the Cloud

Google Cloud computing is interesting and uses 35mb of memory, can be installed on hdd/SSD, BIOS or embedded system. It requires of course network connections. When you power it up, it'll boot right up to browser the first thing and you can customize your way on the browser so you can just click what you want to connect to. It's kinda like Server/Terminal part in concept. In that way it'll boot up to Browser quickly the first thing you see in less than 15 to 30 seconds...

Check this out

Here's 3 different links (listing look the same but links to different ThinkgOS sites).

I would love to have a Netbook running on that...but will wait until it becomes mature. :)

gOS haven't updated their OS to 9.04 yet. Sound like they are working new Google OS and ditching gOS.
