How do you celebrate Good Friday and Easter? As I am aware everybody do it different all over the world.

For me, I buy Hot Cross Buns, and we heat it up for breakfast or morning Tea, and we make an easter chocolate cake with easter egg decorations around it and on Good Friday we cook fishes for our tea.

On Easter Day, we hide chocolates eggs around the house for my girls to find egg hunting.

I remember few easter ago, my little daughter put her Easter Chocolate Egg on coffee table and forgot all about it and found it empty because my gold labrador dog pinch it!! she cried - oh dear!!

We don't go to church for easter.

We decorate the Easter tree a few days before the holiday. We colour eggs and do pysanka.
When I was a child, we went to Sunday School, then we came home and looked at our Easter baskets.
We would have early dinner around 2 o'clock, and eat ham, potato salad, lima beans and buns.

Sometimes we went hunting for eggs in our yard, and sometimes we went in the community egg hunt.
We do not use chocolate eggs, but real coloured eggs and plastic hollow eggs filled with money or candies. Sometimes we went to city to see the Easter Parade, or watch it on the telly.

-Now, we don't go to church anymore.
-We visit our relatives in the cemeteries and give Easter flowers to them.
-We like to laugh at our dogs by putting easter bunny ears on them.

I don't know what I will do this Easter alone here in Utah, LOL.

Hi!

Well, this weekend, I plan to go to the supermarket to get some eggs. :) I have the color kits, and I'm going to sit down with the little ones and get right down to business with them Easter eggs. They (the kids) like to give them out...so the important folks in the family (Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles, etc...) each get three decorated eggs...

I think I'll take mine and Daddy's and make a nice egg salad...YUM.

Easter Sunday we usually cook a nice dinner here...Ham, potatoes, gravy, veggies, rolls, salad, the works. Some ice cream wouldn't hurt, either! :)

OMG, time to go to the gym! ;)

On Good Friday, we will invite few friends over with their kids and have the kids coloring their Easter Eggs. It will be FUN!!

On Easter Sunday, we will go to church for Easter Sunday, and then go to my husband's dad and stepmom, they are having a Easter Dinner at their house, and after the dinner, the kids will go outside (if weather is nice) to hunt their easter eggs. :)

:)

boy I got a long weekend with kids on that weekend *biting fingernails*

good fridays we have no school so kids stay home. then next day April 10th Sean will have his 7 years old birthday party (early because his birthday is on the 21 but he want to have party BEFORE he has chemo which I though it was good idea that way He would not feel tired out) at the bowling alley from 130 to 330 (pulling my hairs oh boy more kids) and then next day I definetly would want to stay home and rest watching my kids having fun on their easter day....

Good Friday -- I will be at work but on Easter will be kewl with my family since my mom asked me to make devil eggs!

I set homemade Easterbread & English Hot Cross buns for the breakfast.

We ate fish & bavaria potato salad, salad...

Homemade fish pate, egg salad, salmone, sliced cheese... served German rye bread, rolls....

On Easter Day, we hide chocolates eggs around the house for my boys to find egg hunting, also at our garden only if there´re nice weather.

Funny, I never forget at few years ago... We prepared to hide the 2 basket of eggs, chocolates, present etc. On next day it´s quickly for my sons find them because they saw the eggs rolls everywhere in the living to dinning room by my cat, Sussi... (She played with egg with her paws... to see every eggs rolls everywhere lol)...

That´s why we shut our living room door for not let Sussi in when we set basket of eggs etc.

Hi RedRum,

I plan to go to the Foodmarket to get some eggs and color kits this coming up weekend....We will be doing eggs the day before Easter.....and made plans to go to my parents house on Easter Day....

grew up with family for same old big brunch every year
something like a traditional Catholic style
including eggs, bacon, rolls, jelly donuts,
jelly beans, chocolate bunnies/candies, then
have ham/potatoes/green vegetables for dinner...
i love same old traditional thing to do every year
same location same food same people for
many years.. now some family members breaking up
some moved away it's never the same anymore
thats why i love same old traditional thing
and i never like any "changes" not even
any software new version numbers, sigh....

Good Friday -- in Australia, we get those Hot Cross Buns ..and also eat chicken. No red meat is eaten on Good Friday. Just part of the belief of Good Friday. :)
