Gloucester County giving out smoke detectors and batteries | Gloucester County - - NJ.com

The Gloucester County Fire Marshal’s Office has smoke detectors and batteries to give to seniors, hearing impaired and low-income citizens.

The supply includes 200 smoke detectors, 24 smoke detectors designed for the hearing impaired, and 288 replacement batteries. A portion of the supply of smoke detectors available are designed to give off a strobe light along with a loud alarm and are best for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Both the smoke detectors and the batteries will be dispersed on an as needed basis for as long as supplies last. Because the equipment and supplies are limited, items are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Please call (856) 307-7100 for more details.
