Gingrich in 2012?

That doesn't change the fact that he did cheat on her, and then again on another wife, and was the first Speaker to be brought up on ethics charges and fined in excess of $300,000 if memory serves, took 1.6 mil in payments from Freddie, has been using scam type methods to raise money, claims to be a "historian" but walks around with a diamond encrusted Tiffany bookmark, flip flops every time he opens his mouth, and is an opportunitst that never states his beliefs. His stance changes according to who he is talking to and how he thinks it will benefit him.

Looks like people were right way back when this thread got started.

It seems like people who come from broken homes often exhibit unresolved issues. They sometimes follow and admire people of similar characters because they exhibit familiar characteristic traits they grew up with.

It's a cycle that people need to break.

Not to mention the fact that he refused to attend his sister's same-sex wedding ceremony due to his views against homosexuality. He also believes that gay Americans should be not allowed to get married since it would hurt the sanctity of marriage. Yet he has been married three times.

What a hypocrite.

Needs to take some of that 1.6 mil he earned lobbying for Freddie and use it to keep his alimony payments up.:roll:

It's obvious that the ex-wife don't hold him in high regards. She probably has good reasons for that. I don't blame her for being a private person because it's embarrassing enough after what happened. The daughter who wrote the column was only 13 at the time her parents got divorced. I don't expect a young teenager to understand what went on and what caused them to get divorced.

Some children have a difficult time trying to take off their rose-coloured glasses. Not everything is what they appear to be.

Of course a 13 year old is not going to understand what is going on. She is filtering everything through her own filter, and it is a filter of virtually no experience with adult situations. And who knows how Newt has manipulated her to say what she said. After all, she does work for him. Makes her just a tad dependent upon him.

None of that money was pocketed at one time but over a period of years with his business the Gingrich Group, a consulting firm, from 1999 to 2007 where he provided strategic advice for Freddie Mac, one of the many, many clients his group had. None of the money he's gotten was from lobbying. At one time he had up to over 30 employees. He earned his consulting wages as a private citizen on topics that interests him and something that he can cover. He had no power or responsibility in the arena of politics. To say that he was lobbying for FM is a liar, of course.

I was able to break the cycle of abuse that ran in my dad famliy . It was one famliy trait I did not want to pass on!!
