Yesterday I did my usual thing, visiting the usual group of protesters in front of the Post Office. They are always there every Saturday, you could set your watch by them. The only thing, though, was that they were older citizens, and I greatly admired their courage and patience and faith (because really, who knew anyone would pay attention to them?) and just plain courtesy to people? I bring this up because yesterday for the first time, I noticed some YOUNG people there as well. It always got my goat that only the older and wiser segments of our country had the guts and the courage and the wisdom to have voices in how lives would be run.
Yes, I have hope now.
It was so great to see them, the young people, to join the group who so selflessly gave their time and energy for so long.
The tide is turning.
We as a people have been slumbering so long, we swallowed everything, and I mean EVERYTHING the Monkeyboy Junta has spewed, and I think it high time we see past the lies, the evil, the hypocricy and the propaganda, and just live again. As Americans.
