Fuzzy Vision

My medication is a very important part of my life that words can't describe to you (or anyone) how vital they are to me. They keep me sane. Bipolar effects are something I truly want to stay clear away from with all my might. I do not play with that...not sir/mam.

That is good to know. Many of those diagnosed with bipolar experience such horrible side effects that is is difficult to get them to stay on their meds. Also, many bi-polar indicviduals miss their manic phases, and stop their meds. You are ahead of the game by wanting to stay on your meds. It6 is still possible, however, that after having been on the same regimen for an extended period of time, it will be necessary to adjust dosage or actual medication to obtain the same therapuetic effects.

Very true jillio! Also I'm getting healthier physically after having gastric bypass surgery last month. Getting healthy will aid in combating the dreadful illness/disorder because I am stronger in health. I expect for my med dosage to be decreased in a few months because of that fact.

Sadly because of my medical condition I am forced to live on disability; and I hate that because you see I have a college education but I can't work full-time because the government will cease paying for my expensive doctors and very costly medication. That is something I can't let happen...I (for now) must remain disabled (Grrr!!).

I have dreams of becoming an ASL interpreter and remaining disabled dashes those dream into pieces. I have to have at least some independence in order to function in a profession I admire. It is frustrating but I have hope that things will (one day) turn out for the better.
:bye:

Nah! Glasses are a fashion statement now. You will be very stylish!

Just a thought. You might want to ask if it is possible that the vision problems are a side effect of your meds. Might be able to try a different med, or adjust the dosage.

Yep, that true. :) I wear glasses for reading and driving that it. :)

Could just be eye strain, but I would visit an optometrist to be sure. Perhaps you just need glasses for reading.

Yep I agree, because my eyes get very strain while I work in office on the computer for long hours and my eyes so tired from that strain from the computer. But I am sure there many numbers of reasons what caused lot of problems people eyes. My uncle have diabetic and that cause his eyes to changed, or cataracts, or eye injuries or retinal cancer. My brother is almost legally blind so he had laser eyes surgery and it was a very good success. He happier now not wearing glasses anymore.

Tonight (again) I was unable to continue my lessons because of my fuzzy vision.

Next month I have an appointment with my Primary Physician. I want her to recommend a good eye doctor for me...I don't feel confident choosing one myself.

It is such a pain not to be able to clearly see a page and to have to stop the study :(

Oh, I know what you mean. I have worn glasses since I was 9 years old, and still after sitting behind the computer all day, and reading textbooks and research, my eyes sometimes feel like they are on fire at the end of the day. Plus my eyes are very light sensitive, so the bright office and classroom lights make them tired.

If you have insurance, it might be cheaper for you to skip the initial visit to your GP and just call them and ask what doctors they cover in your area.

If you just have a simple refractive error, even the worst imaginable optamologist could diagnose and prescribe glasses or contacts.

In the same breath, pretty much any eye dr can provide you a referal to a specialist, if that's needed (ie, for further examination of the retina by a specialist, or a visit to a neuro-optamologist who would test for disorders of the optic nerve)

You know that I get so upset when the fuzzy vision kicks in that I use a magnifying glass. I do...really. I dislike the process of learning to end for no good reason. Especially when it's out of my hands.
