Fustrated with a friend

So, i've been best friends with this girl for four years in high school, and she's moving next month to Pennsylvania because her mom recently got engaged to a guy. But a few weeks ago she was complaining to me about another friend of ours going to prom with a guy she doesn't particulary like. This guy our friend is going with isn't necessarily a great choice to go to prom with, he has made some bad choices and knows how to ruin the fun in some things. Anyways, my friend told our friend that she doesn't want her to go to prom with this guy, and she told my best friend that she's old enough to make her own decisions and so on, and my friend basically kicked her out of the group. And then she started to complain to me and i tried to give her my advice on what i think she should do by talking to her about the situation. Our friend has a boyfriend who lives in kentucky and she says her boyfriend doesn't care if she goes to prom with another guy. And then things went downhill from here. my other friend has my best friend's suitcase that she needs to get ready for her moving down to pennsylvania. She texted her a few days later after prom was over asking nicely and maturely for the suitcase. And she texts back saying she's a whore, a bitch, a fatass and just nothing but rude and after that, the two of them aren't friends anymore.

We recently graduated on saturday june 2nd. And I missed my best friend's graduation party the next day because i had family coming in to come see me. I texted her what was going on and she never really texted me back, so i figured she was busy with her graduation party. So i texted her back at a later time asking her if she wanted to hang out tomorrow, she said maybe. So yesterday I texted her if she wanted to hang, no response until probably about noon. She said she was in cinncinatti..dang. Then i asked her if she wanted to hang out today, she says she's packing. I said okay. SO then a few minutes ago i go on Facebook and the first thing i see is that SHE went to an outdoor mall with two other friends. I mean, WTF? like really? i feel hurt a little bit! because i've been trying to hang out with her for the past two days and all she says is that she's either packing or is out of town. I don't know what to say about that. Maybe i'm overreacting a little bit. But it just doesn't seem right. I've been her friend for four years and i've been there for her when she cried and listened to her anger about her parents and her brother and the way guys treated crap to her. She also pisses me off a little bit when she says that I should work more harder about my communication with hearing people. She compared me to another woman with hearing aids that doesn't need lipreading or an interpreter. I mean, thats great for her, but She doesn't understand that i need these things sometimes. I mean, i thought my best friend would already know what I have to go through with everyday but apparently not! :roll:

Wait and see if she wants to do something with you the other day. When she does, just tell her you are busy or something. Give her a taste of her own medicine.

Just move on. You're out of high school now anyway, you'll be off to college where you'll meet new friends. You probably won't stay friend (or even keep in touch) with most people from high school anyway: I am still in contact with precisely one person from high school, we email each other all the time.

I had a close friend from grade school through to high school. Out of the blue he befriended this other guy we'd sort of known waaaay back in grade school. When they were apart, it was fine, but when they were together they really went out of their way to be unpleasant to me.

One day I'd had enough and just stood up and walked away while they were doing their usual 'let's be dicks to him' thing. I never spoke to my friend again, even when he got someone to go and ask me to come talk to him.

Was I now the ass? I don't think I was. They'd been overtly pushing me away for months, now I was gone. For once, my parents (who love to meddle) DIDN'T ask any questions when suddenly my friend stopped being around.

Now that you are out of high school. Focus on your future and not of your friends. You will learn that people change and you will make plenty of new friends along the way.
