friendlys bankruptcy

Never heard of them. You been there? Out here, we used to have a chain of ice cream parlors, too, but now I think there"s only one left.

Oh? yes it's an ice cream place. I thought it is all over USA. i guess i am wrong.

This used to be a great place to go and get food that was above the fast food joints, yet not that expensive. However, today it really is too expensive for what they offer. You can get the same or better food from any mid range restaurant.

We went a couple of times here in town right after we moved back to Florida. I never saw them in Missouri.

The food was horrible. The service was lousy and the ice cream was almost melted when we got it at the table and some of the toppings looked old. the chocolate was weird colors and all.

It used to be a New England chain. Had great fried oysters, if I'm remembering correctly. Fried shrimp, too.

Their ice cream was good when I used to go there. Not fabulously unexpected good, just plain ol' good, but that was fine. Just a nice family-style restaurant back in the day.

I used to eat there all the time when I was at RIT. We didn't have them here back home.

We went one over the summer vacation in Itacha. We were sick of fast food so we went to Friendly's for lunch. Our food was good and ice cream as well.

Mostly on East Coast...I don't think Mid west have them, but West coast none. We have many around here...

This is more bad news in this already horrible job market! People where not given any notices that they where losing their jobs! That is so wrong that businesses do not have to give advance notices but employees have to give a
two week notice that they're quitting their job!

Reading the comments attached to that article is interesting. Seems to be a consensus that quality has gone way, way done. That's a shame; it used to be a regular standy-by for an inexpensive, good meal back in the day. (I'm talking 25 years ago, when I lived in Boston.)

Anyone else remember lime rickeys? That was one of my favorite things to get at Friendly's. I think that had to be a New England thing.
