Wow, I am glad Steve Jobs had the guts to say that his devices offers "freedom from porn."

I do agree with him. I am not anti-porn but porn can be extremely degrading for some people. I agree with him on full control over what languages can be used to create apps and all that - it's EXACTLY what makes iPhone and iPad so magical.. it's consistent, it's smooth, and it flows well. And it's CLEAN!
 
Heh.

"Freedom from porn." Hope he's ready to eat his words when the porn industry figure out how to infiltrate their products with spam and pop-ups.
 
I don't have a problem with porn however do have a problem with spams, viruses, and pop ups but at least that doesn't really happen on the imacs.

I'm with you on this one. Macs are far less likely to get virus and trojans through porn sites than PCs but they're just as likely to get annoying popups from porn sites as PCs.

When I want to go thru porn sites, I really miss my Mac. It's amazing how many of them are deemed dangerous by Firefox's Web of Trust.
 
Teenagers are a huge part of Apple's market. Parents don't want their teens to have instant access to porn. Why make it easy? I suspect that this was a marketing decision to keep parents happy.

Mmm. You have a point there. I'm not so sure I'd want my teens looking at porn if I had any.
 
Parents probably can't stop the 17-18 year old kids from getting porn. I'm not so sure that parents can stop the younger ones from getting it. I want to delay it or at least make the hard core stuff difficult to get.
 
Whatever to make porn harder to access for children, I give my 100% support.
 
You still CAN access porn from iPhone by going to porn websites BUT Apple doesn't want any of its apps to be part of the porn business and I am pleased with its decision.
