Last night, I worked on my old cpu because it was damaged. It has win xp. I used my new cpu's win xp CD to repair it by installing another OS and now I have two OS running on my cpu, but one is damaged, I'm wondering how to remove it? There were several options while installing a new OS, one of them was formatting NTFS, FAT32, etc. I'm guessing NTFS would have been the right one because it works on win xp only and FAT32 is for older operating systems? Because I picked to delete a partition to install and Im stuck with 2 of OS. I can log on with new OS without any problem. I need to remove the damaged OS. My knowledge of computers are fair, but not an expert so Im not sure if I have made sense. Any help would be appericated!!

FAT32 and NTFS works with Windows XP. It would help to know your specification of your computer, like what brand and model of your CPU you have, how much RAM you have, hard drive space, etc.

About the damaged CPU, well, maybe you forgot to insert your CPU fan in your CPU and plugged the CPU fan to the motherboard? Or do you mean computer instead of CPU?

There was an error in my computer causing my computer to shut down, but when I turned it on and there was an error message saying my windows has been damaged but there were a couple of options, start safe mode, or starts windows normally or something like that so I clicked on starts windows normally but it wouldnt log on to windows, it took forever to wait. I restarted it several times, same result. I installed again with my win xp cd and it worked but it didn't remove the damaged one. I guess I should have selected NTFS to erase all files and start fresh then install fresh win xp instead of having two, one recent and damaged one of win xp. Am I clear ?

oops I forgot to answer the questions u asked. It is Optiplex 110 Dell, Ram approx 128 I think, and hard drive is approx 30GB
