Forest Hills couple hospitalized after car left running in garage - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
A Forest Hills couple were hospitalized this morning after a car was left running overnight in their garage, police said.
A woman who lives on Sherwood Avenue called police about 8 a.m. and said her husband had just passed out, said police Chief Charles Williams. The woman and her husband, who both are deaf, were taken to a local hospital, though Williams said he did not know which one. He also did not release their names.
"They seem like they will be OK," Williams said. "They were lucky."
Williams said the couple drove the car last night but that police do not know why it was left running in the attached garage with the door closed. The amount of carbon monoxide in the house may have been lessened by good insulation and a new furnace, which brought in air from outside, Williams said.
