Officers Say No Foul Play Suspected In 55-Year-Old's Death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville police said a fisherman reeled in a man's body on Friday.

Police said they were called to the 2600 block of Art Museum Drive at around noon in response to a person "being down."

They said that's when they discovered 55-year-old Gary Daye's body had been reeled in by a man fishing.

Officers said no foul play is suspected and the cause of death is undetermined. Their investigation is ongoing.

You'd have to have a really big rod and reel to catch a body. Like deep water fishing equipment. I don't think that I'd catch one on my little rod and reel. Thank gawd!

I've hauled in 15 feet logs. Damn line wouldn't break.

Since the fisherman was fishing off Art Museum Drive, then he was fishing in the St. Johns River....so it wasn't salt water/deep sea fishing. ...No photos were attached to the news I got, was a gruesome catch! No idea how long the body had been in the water, should know more on the 11pm news.
