Well, today, Wednesday, is my two youngest kids' first day of school that started on September 9th. We got up early and got everything prepped. They were a bit apprehensive and excited, especially my 2nd oldest who is looking forward to her first woodshop class.

How'd your kids do?

My kids started back to school two weeks ago and they're doing great! Looks like it's going to be a good year. :fingersx:

In our state like many part of southern states, school is usually start in early August so it already started.

Yesterday It was my First day back at school in 15 years!! I went back to my old school as Teaching assistant. I had brilliant day yesterday.... And it was real nice to see the teachers that used to teach me when i was there. And the kids couln't believe i started there 20 years ago!

I helped the kids with their english. I was so afraid to muck up my first day but it went smoothly and welcomed new yr 7's too. The Yr 8's and above started on 1st sept. Yr 7's this week.

Exhausting but rewarding!

Glad it was such a productive day back for you, overthepond. Congratulations!

My kid started a week ago...he said it was good. I guess he is happy to see his friends. :) I met one of his two teachers, really nice...:)

very cool! how many kids do you have and how old are they?

Glad that you had such a great day, Overthepond! I can tell that you're going to be a good teacher. The most important thing is a passion for teaching, and you've got it.

My oldest son will start his 2nd year of college and youngest son will start his 8th grade school next week (15th Sept.) after 6 long weeks summer holiday.

My boys did great! One in the 8th and the other in the 9th....The 9th grader came home the other day, griping about having to take Spanish this year...he said they offered ASL, but it was not on his schedule.....so I wrote the teacher a note this AM, and he came home with all smiles!....He takes ASL starting tomorrow!

His signing really sucks! HAHA!...Looking forward to having more and more conversations with him in ASL this year!...My 8th grader is sticking with Spanish....will take ASL next year.

Too cool!

That's great. Wish that my son's school offered ASL. My eldest is taking Spanish. That's good, too, but he could have learned both.

My first day of grade 11 was yesterday and it went very well thank you very much. :P

All of my courses went well. The only course I am not particularly looking forward to is biology... partly because I really don't need it, but I took it to fill a spot and because it is the only science that is of interest to me.

As for second language classes... the only one offered at my high school is French and it is mandatory to take French in grade nine. I took French in grade 9 and wanted to take grade 10 French but there wasn't enough interest so they cancelled the course. The only grade 9-12 French courses offered are French Immersion... which is a very high level of French.

My niece and nephew started school two weeks ago as well. My nephew is off to a rocky start, but my niece has found her groove and is doing well! Now, if we can just get the boy to find HIS groove, and it will be all good!

My children also started two and half weeks ago. Son started out awesome... Daughter had a rough start, but all is well so far.
