Well, actually... I moved here just in time. When I first came here, I was put in a different dormitory. That dormitory only had 3 alarms. I was there for one of them and it was a fire drill. The next year, I moved to Ellingson (Tower A) for one quarter and we had 30 alarms in one quarter. The next quarter, we moved to another dorm, Sol Heumann. We still had fire alarms but I was always gone during the alarms, heh! The next year, I was still in Sol but not with the other deaf students... but alone. We only had 2 alarms and I wasn't there for either. Last year, I lived in Peterson (Tower B). We never had an alarm there, but Tower A had a few. This year, this is the 3rd alarm we've had. I'm impressed with this number. Heh!

Oh boy!,

At my old apt bldg, 1 a interconnected siren/strobe box and 2 smoke detector w/strobe in my old unit.. When I was sleeping in the bedroom, and around 2 AM, the siren very LOUDLY in the kitchen sound like a police siren (interconnected from the central fire alarm system/pull boxes) woke me up grrrr! What the fuck?? and I checked on my tv to see the security channel 6, there is a firefighters rushed into the bldg..

I hate the fire alarm very freqently in old apt bldg! (some of deaf residents lives there, they're a public housing units).

Then after 11 years of old apt bldg, I moved into special housing for the handicapped residents, no false alarms and more quietly, oh! I was excited about fires damaged in the lobby next to the laundry in the special housing bldgs. I was puzzled the fire alarm went off, fire dept arrived in, and I go out to the "Emergency" ramp to 1st floor and hmmmm I saw the firefighter searched for smoke or fires... and finally they found a fires in the pop machine!!!!!! whoa! the firefighter hosed it down!

the next day later I asked the landlord, what wrong with the pop machine? she said it's a compressor and motor fires.
