Finally got Xbox 360

What is weird is that Terminator 3 is on HD DVD, and Terminator 2 is on Blu Ray... Maybe I am wrong and they are available on both.. But that is what I noticed a few weeks ago in Best Buy's HD DVD/ BR section.

All 3 Terminator movies had different distributors.

The first Terminator went through a few distributors, mostly due to the distribution companies going bankrupt or bought out. It's also the case with Terminator 2.

Currently, MGM is the distributor of the first one, and Lionsgate for the second. Warner Bros. is the distributor for the third movie.

Both MGM and Lionsgate are Blu-Ray only at the moment while Warner Bros. is both.

If I were a die hard Terminator fan, I guess BluRay would already have won in my eyes. I am a fan of the Terminator movies, but not diehard.. :P

I dont know about you guys cause I've looked at the poll on ign.com afew weeks ago asking which format is best...blu-ray or HD-DVD and HD-DVD had the most votes.

Yep...not making it up or anything but its up to you to decide which fits for you thou I still plan to get HD-DVD add on soon.

I've already got a HD DVD add-on, so I probably am a tad biased towards it. HD DVD FTW!!! lol. I used to think Blu Ray would run away with it right away, but looks like its uphill for both formats, and smooth sailing for the next few years for DVD.

Yes, I don't believe the DVD will face a lot of struggles for the next few years as it've already established its place in the market.

Yeah, I can understand how you may find yourself to be somwhere biased due to the fact that you have a HD-DVD player. Here, I have a Blu-Ray player, but I don't have a HD-DVD player yet. Might consider getting one depending on how fast the prices are dropping.

why HD DVD or BLUE RAY DVD are so important???? they are nothing and WASTE!.. Yawn.... I just buy any (CD) games without HD or BLUE RAY, because CD games are GREAT GAMEPLAY on console!

What?? :eek3:

HD DVD and Blu Ray are for movies, nothing to do with games. I may be wrong about PS3 games being on Blu Ray discs though. All XBOX360 games are already in HD. If you are using Component(red, blue, green) cables, you are already playing in HD. If you are using Composite(yellow) you are not playing in HD, and not getting best possible experience for XBOX360. I highly recommend anyone with 360 to use monitor(VGA) or HDTV(component or VGA) because it is HUGE difference. One good example is Dead Rising. It is almost unplayable on SDTV because the text is desgined for HD. But it is clear on a HDtv or a monitor.

XBXGM3R, which are you using, Component(Blue, red, green) or Composite(yellow)? I did ask you in another thread, but it seem u missed it.

I bought my first PS3 game today (Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07)... and I can tell you that it's on Blu-Ray. It's quite easy to tell a DVD and Blu-Ray disc apart when you look at them from the bottom. Plus, the cases for PS3 games contain the Blu-Ray logo on it.

One thing I was really impressed by was the "Create-A-Character" feature. Quite amazing.

Wow, i can't believe that my mind is slow responses... anyway.. I dont understand your question? Because I don't know much about the specificed component and compostie stuffs. but i use the rca cable like red, yellow and white.. Now you getta my answers!??? Ha

That is compostie(Yellow). White and Red is for audio, no video. Check your tv if it has red, blue, green, and use that, and switch your XBOX to 720p or 480p, and don't forget switch on cord to HD from SDTV. XBOX360 comes with cable that has both Composite(Yellow) and Component(BGR). If you do have Component on your tv, your games and movies will be much better looking, you wouldn't believe it.

Dr. Strangelove, wow you are knowledge about this stuffs than me.. hahah.. really?? White and Red is for audio, no video? I did not know that...

Oh Now I understanding what you are talking about compostie (yellow).. I guess that you are right.. :)

Unfortunately, I don't have any (BGR) on SDTV... someday I will get LCDTV OR BIG SCREEN projector HDTV..

Once again, THANK Dr. Strangelove!!!

Anyway, I better log off from AD and go to play gow on xbox 360...ttyl..

Banjo is right, also all PS3 games are made on BD.

Banjo, Me and Pacman are having a friendly discussion about Blu-Ray Vs. HD DVD. Pacman insits that BR is vastly superior to HD DVD. I mentioned that the only real edge BR has over HD DVD is the storage capacity, and that BR and HD DVD were the same quality picture, 7.1 surround sound, and so on. He seems to consider you an authority figure on HD DVD and BR, so I decided to end the discussion between me and Pac and see what you have to say on this subject. Gotta love Pacman, eh?

If I am wrong about HD DVD and BR being the same EXCEPT for storage capacity, do correct me.

Good debate. One thing you guys should know is BD has another adventage which 7 or 8 studio while HD-DVD has one and another three studio support both formats.

I found a source and posted it in Banjo's "Blu-Ray Owners" thread in Entertainment. It appears I was right, that the only advantage BluRay has over HD DVD is that it can store more data. They are the same quality wise, sound wise. Hd DVD doesn't have a lot of companies backing it up, and Blu Ray has a whopping 170 companies on board. Banjo even listed all 170 of them, and it is quite extensive. IMO Disney being on BR is the biggest publisher advantage, because a lot of families will not hesistate to buy BR Disney movies. BUT Disney has yet to release any of their old cartoon classics on BR. I suspect Disney is waiting for a better installed base, or maybe next christmas, or until their own DVD sales finally start to die down. If you look at Best Buy, you will see a whole shelf of just Disney DVD classics like the black and white mickey mouse on a steamboat(first MM animation I believe).

If your TV have component inputs, then I highly recommend you to get component cables for the xbox360 since it should show MUCH better picture than composite.

composite is on the weak level of video vision while composite is on the high level of video vision and S-Video is on the medium level of video vision so composite and s-video are worthless for this generation.
