File complaint for Video games no subtitles & more.

I have wrote to FCC to let them how how I felt about most video games without subtitles. Also Xbox live only support voice chat...theres no live text chat on xbox live. FCC reponsed they are not the one to control these so they gave me the link to where that would help us. http://www.nad.org/site/pp.asp?c=foINKQMBF&b=176423
I thought if yall write to them and if they get bunches of letters from every one of us. They might do something about this. I like to chat while playing against anyone online but was disappointed we cant. Also I notice all video games boxes doesnt show CC or subtitles on them... I risked buying games such as I bought Halo (xbox), DOOM 3 (PC), Ghost Recon AW (xbox 360) and suckered that it doesnt have subtitles and I tried to get money back but stores wouldnt refunded an opened items. It sucks. I dont understand why DVDS show cc on the box and video games doesnt? Renting games is only way to find out if it has subtitles but still wasting money.

I had contacted xbox back in 2001 when Halo doesnt offer subtitles and I was upset and complained to them. They never reponse and I found a reporter that write news about video games... he interviewed me and I expressed my feeling and he understand that I wanted subtitles on Halo so I will be able to understand the story lines. Then later on found out Halo 2 finally got subtitles and I guess they got my message. I havn't get to play Halo 2 at all.

So I am going to write to this link I just put in here... theres the mail address shown in there for us to write. I know its for video but it should be part of video game becua it has a word "video" next to game! If we dont do something about this then they win and the future for deaf gamers will get worst.
 
Really? Most of my games have subtitles, including GTA series, Getaway, Driver, GT4, Tony Hawk series and more others. PS3 will have video chat and Messaging, it seems great game console for deaf people. Of course, I had complained about Xbox 360 because some games don't have subtitles feature and none of devices that can treat deaf people fairly. I just sold Xbox 360 in last month ago because of my personal reason then can't wait for pre-order in September to get PS3 in Nov 17.

I don't need worry about Xbox problem but you can write up the complaint form to ADA then ADA can help make force all game companies to build subtitle features, just such as happened to TV in before 1993. It need same as DVD too but I don't need use to remote for shrift CC on/off. I'm dissing at MS for curse our deaf culture.
 
Awesome, if it were not for you, Halo 2 would be subtitleless. :deal: Xbox live has no text chat room but only text instant message which is it takes too long. PS2 online is excellent for text and voice chat room.
 
Doom3 does have subtitles..... it just involves a patch that Id released a couple weeks after the game came out in stores. Also most games seem to have subs right from the box, but I do understand how it can be frustrating when a game doesnt have them. I agree the box should at least be labeled to tell if it does have subs or not.


BTW, even though I am hearing, I like to have subtitles on when playing games, so I dont miss what is said. I usually dont have sound up loud on the pc so I can watch tv, or know if phone rings, etc.
 
I used to want to play PSX and PS2 but the controller are too small for me and was not comforable with it. This is why I am stuck with Sega Dreamcast and then Xbox and then now Xbox 360 because of their best design controllers.

I saw PS3 controller they look the same as PSx and PS2 but they finally add Triggers buttons. I will give it a try when PS3 come out.

I like xbox 360 controller because they are very comforable and very 100% satisifty. But none of console controllers are good for First Person Shooter games. PC are only best one for First Person Shooter games because of WASD keyboard and a Mouse. This is screwed when there are many gaming console companies. This is why they cost alot of money because not enough customers buying their products once they have many completiors. Wish all team up together and build one system (PS3, Xbox, PC, Nintendo) LOL :hyper:

PS2 games not all have subtitles as well. Guess you are only into games that drive cars since you listed them here.. those games are not in Xbox 360 just yet.. you should had wait for them to arrive instead of bashing xbox 360. the games companies that put their games in PS2 and Xbox 360 have same subtitles or no subtitles for both. Its the gaming companies we should blame at not just Microsoft company.

Ps2 during online you can text chat while playing game against anyone online? (during the game?) or only chat in lobby room?

PS: Sorry for 3 straight postings here.

I used had Xbox 360 before and I disliked it for personal reason.
