I am feeling sad today...got news that my Rottie's sire is having seizures for unknown reasons, which they are still trying to figure out.
And we had bloods done on my young Rottie just to make sure things are good and there was some mild concern on part of one our vets < we have several different ones> about the blood values, specifically the creatnine, potassium and a couple of liver values. The values kinda fall at ends of "normal" range. So we are going to try some holistic things as a preventative measure and re-rest bloods in a bout amonth. Kinda an emotional reaction for me because our previous beloved Rottie had kidney disease which was diagnosed through bloodwork, at age 2 and one the values they looked at was the creatnine:(

You have my sympathy, but remember the old saying, don't borrow trouble. There is not a thing wrong with her yet, right? Hopefully she will be fine.

I am sure this is the wrong time to ask, but you do know to ask for the breeders records?

I am often rescuing the sick dogs people dump, and I love to give them good homes, but there would be many fewer with more responsible breeders.

But lets just assume she will be ok. I think her chances are good.

many dogs get seizures and it's normal if it's few times a year. if the frequency goes up, then he's sick. My dog gets a seizure about 3-5x a year - very infrequent but perfectly normal.

yes, that's true, nothing wrong yet. I will keep thinking that!

this breeder is very reputable and we have all the records from her. She works very closely with her puppy people. I also keep all medical information in my own binders at home for all my dogs.

Good!

hey, jiro, :ty: for your reply too-

as far as the seizure thing goes, he's been having grand mals which they did manage to stop but he's still having the petite mals and his recovery time is abnormally long after; he also is having motor coordination difficulties because of the meds. She will be taking him to see the neurologist.
