JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The manager of a Riverside sushi restaurant is accused of harboring illegal aliens for commercial advantage.
According to U.S. Attorney Robert O'Neill, Ying Lin, 34, was arrested Friday on federal charges. Once in custody, authorities learned Lin is also an illegal alien. He was ordered held without bond.
Prosecutors said Lin, also known as Johnny Lin, paid the rent and utilities for at least two apartments where four illegal aliens who worked for Sushi Cafe were found living on Friday.
Federal authorities said the employees did not fill out required employment authorization forms or present any papers when Lin hired them to work at the restaurant.
If convicted, Lin could face up to 10 years in prison.
