FCC Certifies GoAmerica to Provide IP and Video Relay Services Nationwide

Tuesday June 13, 7:00 am ET

Certification Makes Company Eligible for Direct Compensation from the Interstate Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) Fund

HACKENSACK, N.J., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GoAmerica, Inc. (Nasdaq: GOAM - News), a leading provider of online and wireless relay services, today announced that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified the Company as an Internet Protocol (IP) Relay and Video Relay Service (VRS) provider. With this certification, the Company is now eligible to be compensated directly from the Interstate Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) Fund.

"This certification provides a clearer path for us as we continue to develop a video relay service that we expect to launch later this year," said Dan Luis, CEO of GoAmerica. "We're also able to submit our i711.com minutes directly to the TRS Fund for reimbursement rather than relying on a business partner for these submittals."

The Company is expected to submit minutes directly to the TRS Fund beginning with June, 2006 i711.com traffic. While FCC certification will change how the Company recognizes relay revenue, it will have no impact on the gross margin contribution of these services.

The FCC's certification, which is effective for five years, covers current and prospective IP relay and VRS services offered by the Company. Current relay services offered by GoAmerica include its text-based i711.com services accessible through a variety of means including a differentiated online portal, AOL Instant Messenger®, the T-Mobile Sidekick, and an assortment of BlackBerry wireless devices.

About i711.com Relay Services

i711.com offers text-based relay service calling via the Internet, often called "IP relay". Deaf callers use a Web-enabled computer or wireless handheld device to place calls, which are connected to a relay operator. The relay operator calls the voice number and then verbally speaks the text message typed by the deaf caller to the hearing recipient and types the hearing party's responses back to the deaf party.

Relay services are free to all callers. Relay providers -- such as the Company -- receive reimbursement from a pool of funds, collected from telephone carriers by the Federal Communications Commission and administered by the National Exchange Carriers Association (NECA).

About GoAmerica

GoAmerica provides a wide range of wireless, relay and prepaid communications services, customized for people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or speech impaired. The Company's vision is to improve the quality of life of its customers by being their premier provider of innovative communication services. Not surprised that HORVRS might sue GoAmerica for stealing the VRS idea or whatever. Same way for lawsuit against Sorenson from HORVRS. Wait and see...

No big difference but sound alike...ok

Are you searching a good position to make big bucks? Go polish your resume and apply the position.

Looks like GoAmerica is trying to get the bad debts back from WyndSUCKtell! Good for them! 20 million dollars is alot money to lose on one lousy company that we all know!

HOVRS going to sue GoAmerica? Your funny because they already lost the lawsuit and after alot of money well spent, I do not think they can afford lose another case, so it is really unlikely going to happen. BTW, I knew there something isn't right with HOVRS sueing Sorenson, orignally I thought it was fake but I was close to being correct. (Without merit)

It get's funnier among rumor lines!

HOVRS suing GoAmerica? I thought GoAmerica tried taking over HOVRS already.

Well, you know how that fell apart. HOVRS even took a loan from GoAmerica to try to make it possible, so they owe GoAmerica money. What better way to try to discharge the debt than by suing?

The funny thing this what i was told that the HOVRS lost cause Sorenson own the right to VP-100 and also they made the i2eye 1000 and d-link brought the patent and it stated at United State Patents and Trademarks Office which I went and looked up. Then D-links started selling them and HOVRS used i2eye 1000 for their service and they have not plan to upgrade the 1000 yet.

in all seriousness... GoAmerica is a thief in thier own rights, from what i heard from a reliable source, that a wireless company dveloped the i711 and then when a merge took place, they took i711 with them * goamerica* and now we're stuck with the MCI IP RElay who SUCKS at wireless callers im always forever getting interupted or delayed in waiting on calls, SO i use another service and i like that service ALOT better quicker and reliable!

Joke! there is advertising icon from i711 on all pages in alldeaf.com

qwerty123, Please get the facts first cause your reliable source is wrong and I alway check each company background first before I deal with them.

i711 is not with GoAmerica at all, GoAmerica launched them in 2005 they are in partership that all and please review their company and stock too and you will see differ company. GoAmerica use i711 for the service for relay that all.

It stated in i711.com the following:

i711.com service is the result of a partnership between GoAmerica and Nordia. Nordia is a relay provider for one of largest relay programs in the U. S., and a provider of Canada's relay service. GoAmerica provides the technology and service innovation, while Nordia delivers the operator quality, service reliability, and call experience you need for the best relay call experience. i711.com is a service you can trust for all your Internet relay calls.

Docblaze, where the heck are you reading that i711 is a different company than GoAmerica? GoAmerica CREATED i711.com. They partnered with Nordia, a Canadian call center company, to provide the relay agents. Nowhere is i711 "it's own company" because it's all from GoAmerica and only uses Nordia's agents. GoAmerica swallowed up Wyndtell, and GoAmerica's CEO is also the former CEO of Wyndtell.

If you can go to www.i711.com and look at "our company" it will stated:

Trust i711.com for your Relay Needs
i711.com service is the result of a partnership between GoAmerica and Nordia. Nordia is a relay provider for one of largest relay programs in the U. S., and a provider of Canada's relay service. also look up wall street jorunal of last year and it also stated the same things and Consumer complaints about Wyndtell Cellular Devices for the Deaf and they need funds cause they were losing the backing of deafs and that how they went under and GoAmerica brought them out and GoAmerica was founded in 1996 as a provider of innovative wireless data solutions for corporate customers and deaf customers too.

Trust me, it's owned by GoAmerica, not Nordia. Every person I've met who has exhibited i711 works for GoAmerica.
