FCC Approves SK3

What Nokia phone was it? You say it's running a Windows OS. PocketPCs have excellent printer support. That's probably why your buddy was able to print easily.

Sidekicks are a custom OS without the diverse support that Windows has on many platforms, especially their mobile devices. Again, I strongly doubt that they will have printer drivers installed for bluetooth.

Bluetooth USB Adaptors are not magically a connection between a wireless device and the printer. You still need something to be able to communicate correctly to a printer what is on the screen of the device.

The "$2000" printer was for a server that would be able to read the screen of the Blackberry, translate it into a printer protocol, find the nearest printer via bluetooth, and then transmit the printer information wirelessly to the Blackberry then through the bluetooth to the printer. Sounds pretty cheap to me, though free would be nice. Still, nothing built-in like a PocketPC or Windows Mobile device may have.

Without any drivers on the Sidekick, it won't be able to print at all. Since no one has confirmed it will have printing capabilities, this means that there will be no printing until those drivers are provided.


Man, good luck with your education. I'm glad you're getting those certs and you have that AS. We need more tech people out there who learn the good stuff like you need printer drivers in order to print.

Yes, I agree with you. I use my nokia 6822 for snapshot quick and send email or MMC when I was outside.

I used repair on Elan 7E before. I really like it because it have eye control. I am upset any DSLR do not have eye control only SLR. :(

(BTW I work for Canon in 5 years.)

My whole point is....... How does anyone afford a sidekick.... a friend of mine who is deaf/can't talk..... She can't even afford a sidekick for herself. Anyone got any idea's to help her? :dunno:

I don't need it, I got a cell phone. happy with it!!! :scatter:

T-mobile didn't discontinue the SK 1 until after the SK 2 was released. So, in this case, if they REALLY ARE discontinuing the Sidekick 2 already, then it means that they're shooting themselves in the foot and preventing customers from getting SK2s before the SK3s are out there. It does not mean that Sidekick 3s are coming out in June.

I've seen no credible evidence that a June release is possible.

I've seen nothing more than "I want to spread the rumor that I called such and such and they said they can't order more Sidekicks! I need to jump to a conclusion and say the Sidekick 3 is coming out!"


The above posted "product map" has already been proven false. All these rumors do is make people wait and wait and wait and never get a mobile phone because they're waiting for the "next best thing" and life passes them by.
 
Well, me and my gf went to T-mobile store yesterday. They told me the Sk2 IS discontinued and they don't MAKE it anymore. They have the leftovers, that's all. The reason why we were there is because she had to replace it due to her other sk2 broke. The Sk3 will be out in June or July they said. In fact, I do not like your "know it all" attitude of yours.

Same here, my deaf friend has sidekick that broken by accidently drop on street during weekend and he's trying to replace new sidekick then tmobile said sidekick 2 is discontinued. I have going be very careful with my sidekick until this summer.

sequoias, is it my skeptical attitude that you don't like? If your rep cannot even tell you an exact date for a release, then they're just pulling numbers out of the air. How many people have said, "It'll be out in November 2005" "A rep tells me it'll be out in February" "My spy friend says it'll be out in April" "SK2 is going out, SK3 will be here June/ July"???
