My father had good hearing for years but since he was in the military and oil fields in his younger days, hearing loss was inevitable for him and now it happened.
My father works with computers and is a contractor. The problem is that my father is waiting on his new hearing aids to arrive but the woman doing the contract with my father's contracting company refuses to work with him since he is missing 25% of the conservation over the phone due to his hearing loss worsening. His hearing loss isn't that far off from mine( evere to profound). He is now fearing for his job but I have told him that it seems inexcusable that all involved are refusing to use instant messaging, text, or even meeting transcripts.
He has been asking me for advice related to ADA laws but I basically have told him to contact ADA advocates and a lawyer if necessary.
One question I would ask is in that situation, would the refusual to provide accommdation while waiting for hearing aids to arrive be a violation of the ADA?
