And you claim to have a research background!:D There is a population you aren't accounting for, koko. You only included 63% of those polled. The total number of pollsters must equal 100%.

Things like this have me wondering if he's actually one.

It got to do with how supervisors try to skew their theses and proposals to get grants-- at least since paleontology is underfunded. Some students take that approach, internalize it and apply it to everything in real life rather than acknowledging the approach as a political scheme.

Lack of critical thinking.

what's proposal writing?

You know... when you write proposals asking for the government or a business to finance your research.

Ever seen how people try to get grants to fund their projects? They will do anything to make sure that their stance is in good light, even if it means taking things out of context. A lot of it is (from what I seen) in the same writing style as kokonut's.

However majority of them don't transfer that into their personal life. However I do see a few undergraduates do it because they misinterpret their supervisors' intentions and things just spiral from there. So it's a learnt behaviour.

Edit:
The thing is... it's okay if no one is going to challenge you or do any fact-checking when you are trying to advertise yourself, however it should never be a debate tactic or if you are writing a paper that someone might try to refute.

Ah. I've some training as fine artist and in graphic design though I also like to read up on science stuff. Speaking of graphic design, when I take notes on HR-320, I keep thinking about how I'd design the bill. I am using hand drawn display fonts for headers. :giggle: Tracking and kerning on my hand drawn fonts are aweful.

:naughty: LOL... expected from a graphic design student. I think the same way too with how to re-write technical and legal manuscripts into an Associated Press format. Grammar and all.

Psst. I edited my post above.

Yeah, I checked. I'm clearly not a grad student.

the Republican base continued to surprise me.... a Republican supporter armed with guns at rally. Pastor praying for Obama's death..... and now heckling at President during his state of union speech

i'm wondering what's next :hmm:
