I think we should just give it up. kokonut, along with the vast majority of the population, wouldn't leaf through 1017 pages of legalese.

Should someone here read the bill to support his arguments instead of attempting to muddy the issue with off track issues?

Then he needs to stop making definitive statements about what is and isn't contained therein.

Ad hominem tu quoque.

Ah, but it *is* about consistency here and nothing about ad hominem attacks. If Democrats were to set the rules that no apologies were required for rude interruptions of a president speech then by convention Wilson has no need to apologize since the Democrats already set precedence in 2005 by not apologizing for their boos, too.

Should those Democrats who booed during Bush 2005 SOTU speech also apologize, too?

Yes. I think they should have apologized. In fact I don't think they should have booed in the first place. Again for me it's not about what party the president belongs to or what party the booers belong to. It's just about common courtesy.

So? The Democrats shouldn't had booed in the first place. No apologies would make up for it.

So quit it with the "you too!" arguments.

Thank you for an honest answer. I agree. You're the only one who said it. If there are disagreements, show it afterwards and not during a presidential speech.

Then say it and state the obvious then.

Sometimes, one don't really need to say it. But again, common sense isn't so common as some people believe it to be. Ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer is what you deserve.

So, you're saying they don't need to apologize for their boos to a president during a live SOTU speech? And that means there were no need for Wilson to apologize as well?

Oh, you're just grasping at the straws. Souggy made it quite clear, it's wrong, no matter who they are. But he's saying that by saying that someone else did it too doesn't devalue one's action.

Two wrongs does not make a right.

We castrate our politicians here, even if they do make an apology because it's just simply inexcusable. :p

Yup. I have heard the term "Ningun ser humano es ilegal" and I tend to agree.
Hmmm.

Ok. No apologies then?

Yeah, but shouldn't the Dems in 2005 who booed ought to have apologized?

Yes or no?
