A friend of mine told me she does not recommend me to work at Target. She had bad experience with them for 4 years. I applied for work at Target distribution center and got a call from someone at Target and she gave me what shifts I want to work for and she is going to process them to human resources and call me for an interview in a few weeks, we'll see.

Anyone of you used to work or currently at Target have bad/good experience?

never worked there before, but can you ask your friend specifically why it's bad to work at Target? (and is it the same Target both of you are talking about?)

It's different target and she works at a retail store. She's in WA state and I'm in Iowa applying for distribution center. She had problems with drama, sexist stuff, never level up after working for almost 4 years.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I want to work there...great benefits and pay. We'll see. I know one of Alldeaf member works at Target distribution center in VA and he says that he loves the job.

Remember the member Ilovetarget? She was employed there and loved it.

I should ask my girlfriend. She works there for about 4 years or longer. She works as a part time. She continues to work there from my understanding that she has no problem with target. :dunno:

Oh, wow!! Sequoias, are you serious with appling at Target stores??! What happened to your current work...I thought you are happy with Enterprise. I did applied 12 times, yes 12 times since 2004 and only 3 interviews (first one included with evalution paperwork) but all were rejected. But i knew it it was totally discrimination. It was both in Long Island and here in the Upstate. Sigh. Nothing new! There is none of the deafies work anywhere in the city and surroundings the city where I live! Because of stupid discrimination! They're most likely to hire HOh than deafies just because they can understand with their hearing aids and talk better close as hearing people do. I mean, yes a several of my friends are all HOH and it's in Baltimore, MD and Long Island, NY. Ugh! I won't give up anyway..I'm going to kick their ass (a$$hole hearing employers) someday!

One of my longtime friends (since 25 years) is HOH and works as a full-time cashier, tradin cards at Target in L.I. for nine years now. He still lives with his parents....he's 30 years old. I dunno why.

lol big difference. you're applying for job at distribution center and her job was at the retail store. Distribution center has better pay.

Nope. Don't always a$$ume. Why would or should it be anything to do with one's attitude or mine's? My friends (deaf) did try the same thing at the same local Target stores around here. No luck. I'm already an expert at job interviews because which i've been thru too many times in years. How bout you explaining it to me about my deaf brother whose has a lot of job experiences on his resumes and he applied at Home Depot, Target, Macy's, etc since a year and did a countless of job interviews and he still never got hired? Attitude has nothing to do with it. If he did have a problem with attitude, he wouldn't have that many job experiences on his resume.

I'm not assuming. I'm just asking and I think it's a reasonable question. I don't have a problem with your attitude at all but I can see that other people may have a problem with yours.

The company itself is not hiring you. It's the manager. Perhaps that manager is discriminant. or perhaps he is a touchy one who is sensitive to you attitude.

No, not at all, you know how managers get freaked out and looked down on deafies upon arrival for interview in the office. Excuses, excuses they looked for a cover. Smart-asses that I couldn't find a way to sue. BLAH.

lol is it even worth it to sue a job that pays you like $7/hr? just saying.

i know someone in california, and virginia who work for target, they love his job, good money.

More like $9/hr. Which is worth - having no job or job? Have you ever aware that there has the most recent statistics update of how many suits that are made by disabled job seekers comparsion between 1990 and the present?

yes but you got money and time for lawsuit? you do know how long it takes, right?

Yeah, i know how long it takes but if win the case, then you'll get rich one day. Lol. I know this kind of little pointless. But all I can do is file a complaint and rate zero on a scale 1 to 10 on managers....
