Elderly deaf man robbed - News - Manchester Evening News
AN 81-year-old deaf man was robbed in his own home.
The victim was alone at his house on Hollinhall Street, Oldham when a man forced his way in through the back door at about 9.30pm yesterday.
The offender grabbed hold of the man from behind and forced him to the floor, where he searched through his pockets and stole his wallet. He then ran our of the back door.
The victim was not injured but was left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
The offender is described as white, aged between 16 and 19 years and was wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Michelle Lomax from Oldham CID said: "This is a despicable crime. Targeting an elderly man in his own home where he should feel safe and secure is unforgivable. This cowardly offender has left the victim frightened and vulnerable for nothing more than a few pounds and I would ask anyone that may have any information or suspicions about who is responsible to contact police."
