E.U. Fines Microsoft Corp. $357 Million

I don't really like EU.

I always support Microsoft and I'm glad I didn't live in Europe.
 
Nope, Linux is replacing Micro$oft server. Know why? its all about money, M$ is soooo greedy, wants licensing on every machine while Linux does not care how many machine you want to run on single copy!

I think M$ is really hurting other software companies. I can go on with list of example, the most notable one is Netscape! Micro$oft have successfully destroyed Netscape with MSIE!

I don't like the practice that Micro$oft is doing! I support EU decision and I hope more fines is coming up.

Tell ya this, is this fair for M$ to demand royalites and fees to have a software developer develope a software that works under Windows? I think NOT! Suppose you run a business, making a printer and you need to make a driver to work with Windows, you HAVE to pay fee to Microsoft to make your driver compatible with Windows... WTF? It is M$ stragetries to get you out of business and keep business to themselves. that is called "Anti-Trust". It is ILLEGAL!

Why make a rich man richer?

DHB is 100% right--Microsoft is dangerous to the world of technology. In addition, they have this policy of Embrace, Extend, and Extinguish.

For example, using DHB's example of Internet Explorer, Microsoft decided to take the World Wide Web Consortium (also known as W3C) standards (embrace) and add their own extensions to it mostly to force people to use IE (extend). That's how you get "Optimized for Internet Explorer" sites. They used this to force people to stop using Netscape (extinguish). Look, those trials around 1999 were for a reason. Or you can just let this guy call free software a virus. It's up to you. But I don't think Bill Gates deserves any support for what he has done to the world.
