Man on trial in KY for gay slaying
(1/19/2005) Attorneys defending a man charged with killing a gay man and stuffing his body in a suitcase say their client was trying to survive a ‘perverted sexual advance.’ Twenty-three year-old Joshua Cottrell faces the possibility of the death penalty if he is convicted of murdering Richie Phillips. He is also charged with robbery and tampering with evidence. Fishermen found Phillips remains in the suitcase floating in a Breckinridge County, Kentucky, lake in June of 2003. Prosecutors contend Cottrell lured Phillips to a motel room and killed him because he did not like gay people. Under Kentucky law, a person may use deadly force to protect himself from being raped or sodomized.”

wow interesting facts....Thanks for adding this! This news is horrible. I hope this person facing a death penalty for this. I am sure the fishermen feel horrified seeing remains in the suitcase for the rest of their lives. I dont know if they going back to fishing or not. "Deadly Force"??? Oh man...those guys better smarten up dont do those things like that in Kentucky. Using deadly force the court really charged you for murder but in Kentucky they allowed to use "deadly force"??? Oh boy....

well yeah theres alot of ducks and chickens here in minnesota..mostly related to farm use. but who wants to put those on their heads *wonders to self*

these law might be old and those law never been thrown out. Sometime it was being enforced by police but most of them dont enforce it at all. Those silly old laws should be thrown out but it hadnt thrown out yet. Some old laws been repealed but some dont.
