That's so good news! The common sense win!
The House of Representatives on Wednesday failed to pass a bill to delay the nationwide switch to digital television signals by about four months.
The bill needed two-thirds of the votes of the House under special rules adopted for the vote.
Efforts to delay the transition date to June 12 from February 17 has been fueled by worries that 20 million mostly poor, elderly and rural households are not ready for the congressionally mandated switch.
President Barack Obama supports a delay, and the Senate passed the bill seeking a delay earlier this week.

But luckily I got a gift card to Walmart for Christmas so I was able to get the second DTV box last week. (I have two TVs and cannot afford brand new TVs). I am currently waiting on a CC decorder box from a friend to hook the second up the TV with, which should come in a week or so, and then I will hook the decorder and the DTV box up with the 2nd TV. I do not like the CC format/fonts on the DTV boxes, they are decked to the left which makes it difficult for me to look at the whole picture. I like it centered at the bottom which I am used to for so many years. I think DTV transition is unnecessary. We've always done fine with our good old antenna TVs. This is gonna leave a lot of poor people without basic TV when their vouchers expired because everytime they go to the store, the store is always out of DTV boxes. It's not fair.
