Does this baby look like a girl or boy?

I still don't understand what's the need of being genderless. I'm upset about conventional way to treat differently boys and girls, too, but the family's ways are what matters with small children (unless you leave them in daycare or with someone else most of the day, of course - I believe small children should stay with their family as much as possible). My daughter enjoys playing with cars and my little boy sometimes plays with makeup and we never even thought about telling them "don't do such things, you're a lady" or "big boys don't cry" like other parents I know use to... By the age of two they both are very clearly girl and boy, she's more attracted by my ways while he imitates his father in everything (which, if you are wondering, is NOT a good thing in many ways:roll:). Of course this means nothing anyway, and they could change their ways any day, which to me at least wouldn't matter much.
Life is not genderless, why should it be? You belong to a certain gender, biologically, and then you can do whatever you want with it. Even change it...

My daughter had a match box truck that loved it and took it to school one day. Her teacher took it away from her! I forget to get it back from the grumpy teacher! I did not care if my daughter played with cars and trucks!
Boys and girls had tap guns when I was kid.

I was a "mixed breed", I guess. I played with cars & dolls. Played cowboys & Indians. I think I preferred the guy stuff...but I'm "all girl".

I am with LoveBlue...grew up playing with my and my brother's toys. I liked playing GI Joe's but also loved my Barbies.

I never owned a Barbie doll and I was much more into superheros and firetrucks when I was little.

Even now, I'm not much interested in typically feminine stuff except fashion and cooking. Even then a good way to to piss me off is for someone to tell me I should be more ladylike or more feminine in my fashion choices.

So like me as well. My brother's and I had a ball with letting me play with their GI Joes and tanks and stuff. Mom says when I was a toddler, I used to constantly take the Tonka trucks, but I also got mad at my oldest brother when he took my little toy sewing machine. I tried to take it from him, but he threw it at me and I got my first black eye at 2 1/2 years of age.

I have always been a tomboy but loved being feminine. Maybe that was why nobody complained about me playing sports.

My brothers dared me to play softball, so I was on Miss America Softball League for 4 years. Then got involved in kick boxing. After that, kids at school picked on me, so I switched to gymnastics. I can still hear my one brother (the younger of the 2) saying that he was amazed that "thunder thighs" could do the splits and backbends. By that time, I was doing 200 pushups in the backbend position. If I have a good spotter and someone holds my feet and I wear a brace, I can still get 100 of them done. I also can still do the splits being overweight and as old as I am.

This is stupid. who cares if we know the baby's gender? If it is a boy...great! If it is a girl...well great! Seriously who cares? If the baby knows his/her own gender then...great! the baby still have rights to play with action figures or dolls or whatever as long as they are fun and that the baby grows up to a healthy normal life and all. Leaving this child's gender into a guessing game is everyone's waste of time. If something is wrong with the child's gender then the child definetly needs to see a doctor asap. If the baby grew up not knowing his/her gender at all, then yeah...the kid will definetly be fucked up. sorry but that's true.

If anyone picks on you, you can always kick their ass with your kickboxing skills :P lol

But gender is not always determined by your sex organs, and when people know what your sex organs are, they WILL unconsciously expose you to certain "gender roles" which are both sexist and potentially not actually in agreement with your actual gender.

Being intersexed is not an illness. Being transgendered is not an illness. Being genderqueer is not an illness. Defying gender roles is not an illness.

This is a radical example of teaching your child that they can be whoever they want to be or feel they are, but that doesn't mean it is wrong.
